What is Rookie Rugby?

Rookie Rugby is Rugby Canada’s mass participation program that is a non-contact, safe introduction to the game for boys and girls of all ages. The program is complete with a full rugby curriculum that is easy to implement and focuses on having fun and learning the basics of the game.

What can we offer? 

The Aurora Barbarians RFC have been awarded one of ten rugby centres for Rookie Rugby in 2016. We are able to visit schools and either educate teachers to successful run 8 x 1 hour session or even attend and run the sessions ourselves. 

How do we sign up?

Please e-mail info@aurorabarbarians.com with your school name, approximate number of students, dates and times that work for you. We'll handle the rest

Is it safe?

Rookie Rugby would be similar to activities such as soccer and basketball. There is no-contact what so ever and it teaches fundamental skills such as running, handling and teamwork.
