Aurora Barbarians – Under 16 Boys
Aurora Barbarians RFC (ABRFC) 37 - Oshawa 2 RFC 0

The Aurora Barbarians U16s played their final league game against Oshawa 2 at Fletcher's Fields finishing the regular season with an exclamation mark. Tuesday's tune-up against Brampton was just the right tonic because the Barbs controlled the field from whistle to whistle. Aurora's scrums and lineouts were rock solid and this confidence carried over into the loose game where the boys rucked beautifully, ran with flare and constantly moved the ball to their opponent's weak points. Winger Jake Bruno scored 2 tries, one each at the beginning of each half. Fly-half Chris Kearsey also scored two back to back tries, one of them an interception. The other three tries were scored by hooker, Sebastian Hernandez, lock, Sam Hix and outside centre Connor Libby. Evan Fernandes kicked the lone convert. The U16s finish with a record of five wins and one loss. Aurora has to wait for the other league games to finish up to determine the final standings. We will be either 2nd or 3rd place in our division with our likely first playoff game against Barrie next Saturday, August 15. Home field will be determined by the standings.
