ORU Magnificent Sevens

Aurora entered a team in the annual Magnificent Sevens Rugby Tournament held at Fletcher’s Fields on Sunday, put on by the Ontario Rugby Union. Sevens is a fast and furious game, which lasts only 15 minutes and has only seven players on the field for each team. The Barbs U16 team played four games in the round robin preliminaries, earning a third place finish out of five teams. Aurora defeated the fourth place team, Oshawa , in a playoff game to take the Consolation Championship.

Tournament MVPs go out to Leo Policelli and Scott Quagliarini. Hearty Hurrahs go out to all the players who came out and put so much out on the field. Fifteen minutes does not sound like a lot of field time, but the group was exhausted by day’s end.
