Aurora Barbarians RFC (ABRFC) 22 - Markham 12

The Aurora U16s bounced back from a defeat last week to Markham to beat Markham in the club re-match on Wednesday night at Fletcher’s Fields. The Barbs featured a much more aggressive defence, shutting down many of the Markham attacks. They pounced on any opportunities presented. In the first minute, the Aurora players off a defensive scrum, blocked a clearing kick, but unfortunately ran it over the dead ball line to touch it down, a common error at Fletcher’s where the end zones meet. Nevertheless, by game’s end, the Barbs had punched four hard tries across plus a convert to win, 22 – 12. Aurora ’s tries were scored by: Eric Selvaggi, Ed Cruz, Alex Conguista and Michael Joseph. Alex Todd kicked the convert. The next league game is Wednesday night at Fletcher’s. Kick-off is at 6:30 pm.
