Pre-Season Game Report: Sat. April 16, 2005

This past Saturday on a bright Spring almost Summer day, the Barbs Men and fans travelled to the Oakville Cru park to battle the Balmy Beach in their first pre-season game of 2005.

A mish-mash of players from all levels and ages, some putting the Barbs colours on for the first time (litterly 15 min before game), saw the Barbs prevail over an equal mish-mash of Beach players.

While evident much work still needs to be done before the start of the season, fans were treated to a fairly wide open running game with new Barbs, Nolan, Ryan, and Simon M making their impact known. Powerful running from Geoff L, Steve S, Franklin and Paul P resulted in them setting up and/or crossing the try line on more than one occasion.

There was no official score, but it did appear to be a lot to a little in the Barbs favour.
